Journey
Goshen Dennis, professionally known as Speedy XL, emerges from Abia State, Nigeria with a style that bridges hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeats, forming a sound distinct yet accessible within today's global music landscape. Born and raised in an environment ripe with cultural influences, Speedy XL channels his personal narrative—marked by loss and lived experiences—into music that speaks to universal human emotions. His 2025 release, the 'Emotions' EP, is a testament to his ability to translate vulnerability, heartbreak, and societal criticism into compelling auditory experiences. The EP masterfully merges Afrobeats rhythms with the raw edge of trap, reflecting the rich, rhythmic storytelling heritage of Nigerian music. Inspired by prominent figures like Rema and Omah Lay, Speedy XL's songs resonate with the themes of resilience and shared joy. His music not only entertains but serves as a platform for expressing the multifaceted nature of human emotions, positioning him as an authentic voice among new wave African artists. Such thematic depth and genre blending underscore his growing recognition within the industry.
